Apple Releases watchOS 7.0.3 for Apple Watch Series 3 to Fix Unexpected Restart Issue.

Wow. Seriously Apple?

I am a forgiving guy.

I expected some sort of quick update to fix things that were broken in watchOS 7, but three fucking attempts at a simple battery drain issue is really really sloppy work guys.

I’ve said it many times since Steve Jobs death – and I think that requiring three updates to fix a simple battery issue is nothing short of disgraceful.

Steve Jobs must be turning in his grave over this.

Get your shit together Apple, or move on to another company.

iPhone 12?

So Apple will debut the new iPhone 12 come October 14.

Given that 2020 has been one giant kick in the balls with Corona virus, I’m very cynical that these new iPhones will offer much more than slightly greater speed and a 5G option.

That being said, I’ll buy one of these as I’ve owned an iPhone since the very first iPhone was released, and it’s been 3 years since Apple truly did anything different with the iPhone X.

Why, oh why does Apple (sans Steve Jobs) think that the masses will blindly bleat and accept a new iPhone each year that’s only a bit faster than the phone that they already spent in excess of $1,000 on?

Step right up and win… iOS 14.0.1

Well that didn’t take long at all.

Apple have released a new iOS/iPad OS/ watchOS to fix – among other things – bugs with their new iOS 14.

I’ve said it before, If you’re not ready to release a new version of code/iOS/whatever, then delay it!

iOS/iPadOS 14

Well I have to say that so far iOS 14 is just meh.

Its a massive disappointment that Apple is just “fixing” things in the background, and not really offering much that “wows” me.

O_o

So far, iOS hasn’t really changed much since iOS 11.

watchOS 7

Well my watch is a bit faster, but all the new updates are for the Apple watch series 4 and later, so whilst technically I do have watchOS 7, the reality is until I buy a new watch I miss out (it sucks to be me).

watchOS 7

With the upgrade of iOS 14, I’m installing watchOS 7 on my Apple watch.

I’ll write more once I have it installed and have had a chance to play with the new features.

iOS 14 O_o

So I’m currently downloading iOS 14 for my iphone X and ipad (technically its ipadOS 14).

We’ll return you to your regular browsing experience.

Apple Watch series 6

So Apple today has released the Apple watch series 6.

I’ll begin to say that I have the Apple watch series 3.

Is it any good?

Maybe. I’d go as far as to suggest that the cellular (mobile) version of the watch is, ceteris paribus, acceptable.

I kind of like that for notifications, its good. I can look briefly at my watch when I get an update on twitter, news, SMS, etc without (especially during covid times when I have to wear a mask outside) unlocking my phone.

Would I recommend it?

Again, yes, but with certain gotchas.

I’m in the market to replace my current Apple watch, so I’ll most likely buy it.

The mobile (cellular) functionality of the watch is gimmicky. It was kind of cool to answer a phone call on my watch, but honestly, it wore off fairly quickly.

If you want a watch to perform as a watch only, I’d suggest that there are plenty of other watches that are, well, just a watch.
